The SMP’s Health Forum on June 20th will be joined by a Malawian delegation comprising six alumni fellows of the Fleming Fund Fellowship Scheme who will speak briefly about their work in One Health and antimicrobial resistance. The Fleming Fund’s stated aims are to “bring evidence and people together to encourage action against drug resistance for a healthier world”, and to “support low- and middle-income countries to generate, share and use data to improve antimicrobial use and encourage investment in AMR”.

The Malawian Fellows will be accompanied by Dr Collins Mitambo, Deputy Head of Research at the Malawi Ministry of Health and Academics involved in Fleming Fund fellowships at the University of Edinburgh.

The Health Forum will also hear from the NHS Scotland Global Health Citizenship Program about their work, including their recently launched 10-Step Guide to making donations of medical equipment to low-and-middle-income countries.
