Women in group village head Mwangwera of Senior chief kilupula in Karonga district can now afford a smile after receiving a donation of baking equipment from FOHOP as one way of promoting income generating activity.
Shora Kauluka who is the Executive Director of FOHOP highlighted that these women will now be able to engage in bakery services such as baking milk scones, bread and a variety of snacks and sell them to the community members.
The women belong to groups, which were created with an aim of increasing efforts of ending child marriage through economic empowerment of women, whose income is used to support girl child education. Women will now able to pay school fees, buy school materials, and feed their families through this activity.
