We were delighted to take part in a tree planting exercise on the 19th January, 2022, organized by Youth Progressive Environmental Solution. The event was done in conjunction with the Lilongwe City Council (LCC) led by His Worship the LCC Mayor Richard Banda. The tree planting exercise took place at Kaliyeka Primary School and Lilongwe River.
0ver 100 trees were planted at Kaliyeka Primary School. While 1200 more were later planted by our climate change leaders and other young people at Mchesi bridge along Lilongwe River.
YPES Executive director Msaiwale Mwale urged the general public to plant trees in their homes, religious institutions, along river banks, along public roads and other community places. This event marked the official beginning of Greening Lilongwe Campaign.
